It’s a Zoo In Here!

There is so much going on! I love being productive, that sense of accomplishment is addictive. I have been trying to compile different ideas on how to make zChicLifestyle a bit more diverse and fun. My husband (photographer http://instagram.com/toddzimbelman) and I were ecstatic when one of our zChic photos was featured on the Guess Instagram page: http://instagram.com/guess?modal=true. It is such a pleasure to be able to work with him. He has truly found a passion for photography and over just a few months he has really grown in his skills! He is always reading up on different techniques so I am excited for you to share in our growth with us! In addition, I love to be able to share my take on fashion and also to be inspired by so many other awesome Instagrammers!

There are a few things that I have prepared for zChic. One of the things I had in mind was introducing you to a couple of friends of mine that love fashion as much as I do! Personally, I love to hear others perspectives on fashion and I think that it would be fun to show several different fashion styles. Who hasn’t at one point in their life said…I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing that! Next thing you know….YOU’RE WEARING IT! Admit it, it happens to the best of us 😉 And thank goodness that it does! Think of all the fun we would be missing out on! The amazing thing about fashion is that each personality is free to have their own interpretation of fashion! I can’t wait to see what happens when we throw different styles into the mix. I am also planning on sharing with you guys short Outfit of the Day videos on YouTube. Now bare with me, we are just in the beginning stages 😉 I just couldn’t wait to share it with you!

As for today, I am elated to share with you images of our first collaboration with a photographer! His name Saisrikanth Chillara and his photography speaks for itself! His images are full of energy and pure brilliance, each image is more enchanting that the next. You can check out more of his work at http://saisrikanthphotography.com.

For such an event, I chose an edgy yet romantic style. I am forced to start with the skirt since it is so dynamic and alluring. This skirt immediately caught my eye when I saw it at Express. This skirt has an undeniable 50’s flare! From the high banded waist to the feminine full skirted silhouette. Midi skirts have the power to immediately transport you to a romantic setting, it’s intoxicating! But what really sets this skirt apart is the zebra print. It is simply the perfect medley.

In the spirit of keeping this shopping experience simple, I was determined to find a top at Express. Sometimes, things don’t work out and you have to hunt and hunt for the right piece at several different locations. Other times one must resort back to the trustee closet. Luckily, this was more of a one-stop-shop! AWESOME SAUCE! (Yes, I’m a bit of a nerd :) ). I found this super-cool and practical reversible top at Express! I love the pop of color that it adds to this look. The cami is so elegant, and I will not argue with its dual functionality. The 2 colors that they chose create an awesome fusion. I really feel like the keyhole slit on the back of this cami really elevates it’s sophistication.

Although this look is very fashion forward, I still wanted it to be practical . For that reason, I chose these awesome booties by Nine West. It’s no mystery that I love leather booties, these are very similar to a gray pair that I have by Vince Camuto. This style is just so comfortable! In addition to being comfortable, the shoe has a very clean and sleek look because of the low-v.

Now I don’t have a ton of jewelry, I just have a few staple pieces that I tend to wear with everything. This is one of my 4 bracelets by Henri Bendel. This is the King Tut. I tend to wear it when I want to look a little fancy :). (…and how perfect is this pocket detail on this skirt?!).

Now the necklace is also one that I have featured on the blog before. For this outfit I wore it a bit differently though. In “Girl About Town”, I wore both starburst pendants in the front (http://www.zchiclifestyle.com/?p=105). Here I wore one in the front and I used the other to accentuate the keyhole opening in the back.
